Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Maureen M. Matthews
Dr. Maureen Matthews is a second generation Ophthalmologist. She has 5 children and enjoys spending time playing tennis, traveling and gardening.
Dr. Julianne M. Matthews
Dr. Julianne Matthews is a third generation Ophthalmologist. She has additional training in corneal disease, dry eyes and corneal transplants. In her free time, she spends time with her 2 small children and traveling!
Dr. Mandy Ward
Dr. Mandy Ward is a 2007 graduate of the Ohio State
University College of Optometry. She offers compassionate comprehensive eye care for all conditions of the eye.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 children and running!

Cataract Surgery
Cataract is age related opacification (clouding) of the natural lens inside your eye. This can lead to difficulty with blurred vision, contrast, glare at night and color perception. Cataract formation is part of the natural aging process of the eye. If left untreated, they can eventually lead to blindness.
Cataract surgery is the most commonly performed surgery in the world. During surgery, the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a new clear plastic lens. A cataract cannot return after it is removed. The lens capsule can become cloudy in about 50 % of patients that have cataract surgery. If clouding occurs, it can be polished in the office.
Monofocal Lens
This is the lens covered by insurance companies. It offers good quality of vision, but most people will still require glasses for perfect vision. It does not correct astigmatism.
Toric Lens
This lens is not covered by insurance. This lens is meant to correct astigmatism of the eye. You will still likely need glasses for near or distance.
Extended Depth of Focus Lens
This lens is not covered by insurance. It is created to address distance and intermediate vision. It also corrects astigmatism.
Multifocal Lens
This lens is not covered by insurance. This is your best chance of reducing your reliance on glasses. This addresses distance, near and intermediate vision. 80% of people achieve glasses independence.
